Hull rose to fifth in National League Two North with a 23-19 victory against a determined Westoe.
James Cameron scored an early long range penalty to give Hull the lead and 10 minutes later Neil Spence strengthened Hull's position with a close range try from a catch and drive.
Cameron's conversion hit the post and kept Hull's lead to eight.
After 20 minutes Cameron scored another impressive penalty from the half way line before centre Laurence Pearce was yellow carded for a professional foul which allowed Westoe back into the game.
Westoe centre James Clark scored two tries, firstly after capitalising on Hull losing possession 30m out to race past the last man and touch down.
The second was a similar effort after a clearance bounced off Tevita Vaikona straight into Clark's hands 25m out.
Hull took back the lead just before the interval when the ball was charged down after a Westoe maul 30m out to Vaikona who got to within 10m of the line before passing outside for Robin Kitching to take Hull's lead to six points.
The second half saw Hull extend their lead inside five minutes following a chip kick from Cameron 25m out which found Kitching in the left corner who held the ball long enough for Cameron to chase and collect the return pass to go over from five metres.
Although Hull held their own extremely well up the Westoe incline for the rest of the game.
The home side grabbed a bonus point with the last kick of the match after a close range line-out was worked across the pitch and back before Mark Olugbodie was given the ball on the right wing in space to finish from five metres, with Dan Rayson converting. Hull have now won their last eight consecutive matches in league and cup.
Hull forward Kris Fullman said: "The highlight for the team was our defence in the second half and it was a real shame when they got the last-minute try.
"The defence pulled together and worked really hard today.
"It was actually disappointing to concede in the second half because we could have shut them out going up the slope.
"The highlight of today must be Chris Murphy's cross field kick (scuffed 15m into touch).
"If he was still at Leeds he'd be made to do a hundred hundreds for that."
