Story Picture

Hull are on the road again this week when they travel to Mint Bridge Ground with a squad that is slowly returning to full fitness in time to face Kendal.

Kendal have made five replacements for their squad on Saturday including the return of prop forward Billy Coxon after his recent appearences for Kendals second XV. They currently sit two places below Hull in tenth place in National League 2 North but their two games in hand may prove important as the end for the season looms large. Kendal’s Mark Ireland is fourth in the kicking stats with 187 points, which Hull will have to be aware of as they look to curb their indiscipline and prevent easy opportunities for the full back to capitalise on.

Hull will be able to welcome back captain Chris Murphy to the starting team and Sione Onesi’s substitute appearance against Caldy last week will provde a relief for a squad that has been stretched over recent weeks. Winger Robin Kitching will still miss out as he recovers from a foot injury but centre Laurence Pearce and prop Kris Fullman are also doubtful for the weekend clash.

Full back Guy Martinson said about the game: “Next week against Kendal we will face more of the same. The Cumbrians are a well organised team and the pack will have to step up to deal with them but I think we can if we train hard enough.”

Hull’s second XV will play Hessle at the Ferens Ground in a 15:00 kick off where they will look to improve their performance after a heavy defeat at Wharfedale last week.

First XV (15:00 kickoff) from: Andy Gravil, Scott Plevey, Alex Piercy, Oliver Hardisty, Oliver Norman, Chris Kendra, James Ward, Alex Campbell, Guy Martinson, James Cameron, Maea David, Rob Devonshire, Chris Murphy, Dan Cook, Shaun Leaf, Neil Spence, Darren Wigg, Tevita Vaikona, Danny Smith, Kris Fullman, Ben Dorrington, Matt White, Sione Onesi, Josh Lamping

Second XV (15:00 kickoff) from: Luke Mower, Leroy McKenzie, Chris Bailey-Gibbs, Ryan Waudby, Pete Anderson, Mark Holness, Simon Edwards, Max Alderson, Ashley Taylor, Jody Opperman, Jack Everitt, Mark Harris, Eamonn Whelan, Mark Harling, Matt Davies, Richard Jones, Sam Taylor.
